MAPPA marked its 15th anniversary with the release of a new music video on Friday, set to "Seikatsu" ("My Life") by Japanese three-piece pop band PEOPLE 1.

The video brings the song's emotional themes to life through animation, following the lives of people in the same era and the connections that shape their futures. What makes this piece stand out is how it weaves elements directly from the animation production process itself—key animation drawings, storyboards, and preliminary artwork—into the final product. This layered approach celebrates both the human relationships depicted on screen and the craft behind creating them.

The project brought together a talented crew including director Akiko Kudou, key animator Yasugi Narumi, and compositing director Kenta Fujita, among others. PEOPLE 1 has previous ties to MAPPA's work; the band contributed the ending theme "DOGLAND" to Chainsaw Man, and vocalist/bassist Deu collaborated with artist Eve on "Like the Flatwoods Monster," which also received an animated music video from the studio.

Beyond the anniversary video, MAPPA announced the MAPPA EXPO 15th Anniversary exhibition, running from September 16 to December 7 at the Yurakucho Museum in Tokyo. The exhibition will showcase materials and artwork from some of the studio's most celebrated projects, including Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, Attack on Titan The Final Season, and Jujutsu Kaisen. Ticket prices haven't been announced yet.

The milestone reflects MAPPA's growth from its founding to becoming one of anime's most prominent production studios. Over the past 15 years, the company has worked on some of the medium's biggest franchises and consistently pushed creative boundaries in animation quality and storytelling. Both the music video and exhibition offer fans a chance to appreciate the studio's evolution and the detailed artistry that goes into each frame.
