Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls Adds Wolverine, Magik & Danger for August Launch
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls has unveiled three new playable characters in its latest trailer: Wolverine, Magik, and Danger. These fan-favorite mutants will join Storm as part of the game's Unbreakable X-Men team when it launches on August 6th.
The fighting game brings together Marvel's iconic superheroes in anime-inspired combat. Wolverine brings his signature adamantium claws and healing factor to the roster, while Magik offers her teleportation abilities and mystical sword skills. Danger, the sentient Danger Room AI turned X-Men ally, adds a unique technological fighting style to the mix.
For those unfamiliar with these characters, Wolverine is one of Marvel's most popular mutants, known for his berserker rage and nearly indestructible skeleton. Magik, whose real name is Illyana Rasputin, serves as both a powerful sorceress and the ruler of Limbo. Danger represents an interesting deep cut from X-Men lore - originally the artificial intelligence running the X-Men's training facility before gaining sentience and independence.
The "Tōkon" in the title means "fighting spirit" in Japanese, reflecting the game's blend of Marvel superhero action with Japanese fighting game traditions. With Storm already confirmed and now these three additional X-Men joining the roster, the game appears to be building a strong mutant presence alongside its broader Marvel character lineup.
Fans can expect more character reveals as the August 6th release date approaches.
