Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls Reveals Knights of Doom Roster
Sony Interactive Entertainment debuted a new trailer for the upcoming 4v4 tag team fighter Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, featuring the Knights of Doom and an all-star voice cast. The game launches August 6 on PS5 and PC.

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls got a fresh look this week when Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed the Knights of Doom during a PlayStation State of Play livestream. The new trailer gives fans their first real glimpse at three major villains joining the 4v4 tag team fighter: Magneto, Green Goblin, and Carnage.
The voice cast brings some serious talent to the roster. SungWon Cho voices Doctor Doom, James Arnold Taylor handles Magneto, Steve Blum steps in as Green Goblin, and Kellen Goff brings Carnage to life. The trailer also confirmed New York Night as a playable stage, fitting for a Marvel fighting game.
Developed by PlayStation Studios and Arc System Works with Marvel Games, the fighter launches August 6 on PS5 and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), with a Japan release following on August 7. The launch roster includes 20 characters total, featuring heroes like Spider-Man, Wolverine, Ms. Marvel, Storm, and Ghost Rider alongside the villains.
Players interested in the Ultimate Edition get access to five character costumes, animated chromatic colors for all 20 launch characters, and the Year One pass—which promises four additional characters and one new stage down the line.
One standout feature is Episode Mode, a single-player story experience presented in motion comic format. The developers tapped a renowned writer from Marvel Comics' original run to help build the world and craft the narrative, suggesting the game takes its storytelling seriously beyond the typical fighting game fare.
For fans of Marvel properties and fighting games, this one's shaping up to be worth keeping on your radar. Arc System Works has a solid track record with the Guilty Gear and Dragon Ball FighterZ franchises, so the technical fighting mechanics should hold their own. The combination of Marvel's deep character roster and a respected fighting game developer could deliver something special when it hits shelves next month.
