RetroCrush is bringing back the nostalgic Medabots anime with a weekend marathon schedule launching June 7. The free, ad-supported FAST channel will air episodes every Saturday and Sunday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. EDT, giving fans a chance to revisit or discover the classic robot-battling series.

The Medabots anime originated in 1999 as a tie-in to the original Medarot video game by developer Game Freak. Studio Bee Train produced the series, which later spawned a sequel called Medabots Spirits (Medarot Damashii) in 2000. North American distributor ADV licensed both shows, and Nelvana handled the English dub. The original series aired on Fox Kids in 2001 before moving to ABC Family, while the sequel appeared on ABC Family in 2003.

This streaming arrangement comes through a partnership between RetroCrush and Discotek Media, the same collaboration bringing classic titles like Night on the Galactic Railroad to the platform. RetroCrush has also added game-inspired anime from other partnerships, including entries from the Super Mario Bros., Sonic the Hedgehog, and Legend of Zelda franchises.

While RetroCrush first added Medabots to its library back in August 2020, this weekend block gives the series dedicated timeslots for viewers who prefer traditional TV-style viewing. RetroCrush itself is a free service available across multiple platforms including iOS, Android, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, and most smart TVs, plus web browsers.
