Amuse Creative Studio has greenlit an anime based on Mika Pikazo's Re:bel Robotica mixed media project, the studio announced this week. The adaptation will tell an original story set within the project's near-future world.

The anime takes place in 2050 Tokyo, a time when advanced information technology promises a comfortable life for everyone. The story centers on Lily, an enigmatic girl whose existence threatens to upend the world. The core concept revolves around Robotica—machines built to resemble humans and serve humanity—and questions what happens when things don't go according to plan.

Amuse Creative Studio will showcase teaser footage and provide more details at a panel during Anime Expo on July 4, with a booth on the convention floor. Pikazo created the teaser visual for the announcement.

About Re:bel Robotica

Pikazo started Re:bel Robotica as a self-published doujin work distributed at Summer Comiket in 2017. Publishing company ARCH partnered with Pikazo to develop the project commercially in 2019. Since then, multiple writers have expanded the world through novels and serialized stories. Ryō Yoshigami (Psycho-Pass 3: First Inspector, Dopeman) serialized the Re:bel Robotica Episode #β One day novel on the project's website from January to May 2020, then wrote the Re:bel Robotica 0 light novel, which launched in September 2022. Gakuto Mikumo (Strike the Blood, Asura Cryin', Dantalian no Shoka) also contributed a novel titled Re:bel Robotica, also releasing in September 2022.

About Mika Pikazo

Pikazo has become a prominent character designer in anime and gaming. She's known for designing VTubers Kaguya Luna and Hakoz Baelz, and for creating characters in Fate/Grand Order like Sei Shounagon and Mysterious Ranmaru X. She served as character designer for Nintendo's Fire Emblem Engage and provided original character designs for the World Dai Star mixed media project, which became the basis for the 2023 anime Stella of the Theater: World Dai Star.
