Studio KAI's anime adaptation of nonco's Mistress Kanan is Devilishly Easy is getting a second season. The announcement came Sunday via the show's official website, with character designer Akari Minagawa sharing celebratory artwork to mark the occasion.

The series follows Kanan, a demoness who disguises herself as a high school student to consume human souls. Her plans take an unexpected turn when she develops genuine feelings for a classmate—and somehow ends up becoming his girlfriend before she can even make a move. The story explores Kanan's unfamiliar experience navigating romance for the first time.

The first season premiered April 4 on Tokyo MX and BS11, and Crunchyroll is streaming it with an English dub. The cast includes Aoi Koga as Kanan and Seiichirō Yamashita as her love interest Yōji, alongside a supporting ensemble that features Takaya Kuroda as Beelzebub and Yui Ogura as Yuriko.

Director Yasushi Muroya (known for work on BLUELOCK and Fairy Tail) helmed the first season at Studio KAI with Rintarō Ikeda handling the series scripts. Character designer Akari Minagawa brings her distinctive style to the cast, having previously worked on projects like The Perfect Prince Loves Me, the Side Character?!

The manga, which launched in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine in June 2022, has been building momentum with international audiences. Seven Seas Entertainment will start releasing the series in English omnibus format beginning in July, giving Western fans easier access to the source material.

With 13 compiled volumes already published in Japan, there's plenty of material for the production team to adapt. A specific air date for season two hasn't been announced yet, but fans can expect more of Kanan's comedic attempts at romance as production moves forward.
