Capcom revealed fresh DLC content for Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection this week, dropping a trailer for the upcoming "Side Stories" expansion. The first episode, "Side Story: Rudy," is available now, with the trailer giving fans a look at what's coming next.

Monster Hunter Stories 3 launched back in March across Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The turn-based RPG follows the heir to the kingdom of Azuria, a Rathalos Rider caught in an escalating conflict between two nations. Twin Rathalos—born under mysterious circumstances—ignite dormant tensions between Azuria and Vermeil, while strange phenomena threaten the world itself. The story sends you beyond the Meridian on a quest to uncover the truth behind these events.

The Side Stories DLC adds character-focused episodes that expand the game's world beyond the main campaign. Each episode zeros in on a particular character, giving players deeper insight into their backgrounds and motivations. The Rudy episode is now live, with additional chapters coming down the line.

This is the third entry in the Monster Hunter Stories series, which started on Nintendo 3DS in 2016 and has since expanded to multiple platforms. The first game arrived in the West in 2017, followed by a smartphone version. Capcom remastered the original for Switch, PlayStation 4, and Steam in June 2024. Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin launched worldwide for Switch and PC in July 2021, with both games eventually coming to Xbox One in November.

The franchise also spawned the Monster Hunter Stories RIDE ON anime, which premiered in Japan in October 2016. Crunchyroll streamed it with English subtitles as it aired, while Funimation handled the English dub.

If you're already deep into Monster Hunter Stories 3, the Side Stories DLC offers more reasons to stick around. Capcom hasn't announced a full release schedule for the remaining episodes yet, so keep an eye on the Monster Hunter YouTube channel for future updates.
