Hirohisa Satō's Mother Parasite manga is approaching its endgame. The reveal came through volume 17's release this week, which confirmed that the series will kick off its final arc in the upcoming 18th volume arriving this September.

The psycho-suspense story follows Ryota Miki, a middle schooler living a double life with his adoptive mother. While they appear close on the surface, Ryota secretly tracks her every mistake—a fixation born from his obsession with finding the "perfect" mother. His world shifts when he befriends classmate Kaoru Kasai, a fellow kid caught between family dysfunction and school troubles. Their troublesome bond sets off a chain of events that drives the manga's tense character dynamics.

Satō launched Mother Parasite in June 2020 on Coamix's Comic Zenon website, where it's been serialized for nearly six years. The manga has built an international readership through multiple English publishers. Comikey handles the primary English release, while Coamix and Imagineer's MangaHot app also distribute English versions.

This isn't Satō's only work finding audiences abroad. Azuki (now Omoi) publishes the creator's slice-of-life manga Suzuki Just Wants a Quiet Life in English, and both Comikey and MangaHot carry the psychological thriller Shigahime.

The final arc announcement gives fans a concrete timeline to wrap up with Ryota and Kaoru's story.
