SNK announced that Mr. Karate will arrive as a DLC character in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves on May 27, joining the game's expanding Season Pass 2 roster.

Mr. Karate marks the fourth Season Pass 2 addition, following Kim Jae Hoon (January 22), Nightmare Geese (February 26), Blue Mary (March 26), and Wolfgang Krauser (April 24). Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star is scheduled to debut in June, continuing SNK's strategy of mixing classic Fatal Fury characters with crossover appearances.

Since its April 2025 launch on PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, the fighting game has maintained a regular character release schedule. Season Pass 1 featured notable additions including Ken and Chun-Li from Street Fighter, alongside returning series regulars like Andy Bogard, Joe Higashi, Terry Bogard, and Mai Shiranui. The game has also included unexpected roster additions like real-life DJ Salvatore Ganacci and professional soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves represents the franchise's first mainline entry in over two decades, arriving 27 years after Garou: Mark of the Wolves (1999). The series has remained a cornerstone of SNK's fighting game legacy since its 1991 arcade debut, spawning numerous spin-offs and adaptations including three anime films from the early 1990s.

Trailer footage for Mr. Karate is available in both English and Japanese versions, showcasing the character's moveset ahead of the May 27 release date.
