The anime adaptation of Ms. Isshiki Wants to Know About Love is officially on the way. Kadokawa released a teaser promotional video Friday that confirmed the series will debut in January 2027, along with revealing the main cast and additional production team members.

Riko Akechi voices Isshiki Rinna Milford, the protagonist—an elite, straight-laced police officer who joined the force at just 17 but has never experienced romantic love. Shūichirō Umeda plays Meishi Rokutanda, a kind-hearted detective who's struggling with both competence and romance. The story follows these two novices as they navigate being a couple while learning about love together.

Production Details

Kazuya Komai (known for directing Tenjho Tenge and BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad) is helming the anime at Sakura Create. Deko Akao, who's worked on series like Komi Can't Communicate and Noragami, is overseeing the scripts. Character design comes from Shōhei Hamaguchi (Glamorous Heroes). The full production staff includes prop designer Noriyasu Murata, CG director Satomi Nakajima, color key artist Akiko Saito, and more. MICHIRU is composing the music.

The manga itself has been running since June 2020 in Kadokawa's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine. Nine compiled volumes have been published so far, with Yen Press handling the English release for North American audiences.

With a release scheduled for early 2027, fans of romantic comedies have another reason to look forward to next year's anime slate.
