Mushoku Tensei is expanding beyond the screen with Chronicle of Echoes, a new mobile game hitting smartphones on July 27. Developer Asobimo and publisher Gree Entertainment just unveiled the game's opening movie, which doubles as a release date reveal and theme song preview.

The track, titled "Chronicle," comes from Yuiko Ōhara, who's already familiar to Mushoku Tensei fans after performing multiple opening and ending themes for the anime adaptation. Her new song sets the tone for what's described as a "serious alternate-world 3D battle role-playing game" with free-to-play access and optional in-app purchases.

The game features voice work from the anime cast, including Yumi Uchiyama as protagonist Rudeus, Tomokazu Sugita as the mysterious "Man in His Previous Incarnation," and supporting characters voiced by Ai Kayano (Sylphiette), Konomi Kohara (Roxy), and Ai Kakuma (Eris).

The timing is perfect for franchise momentum. Mushoku Tensei's third anime season premieres July 5 on Tokyo MX and BS11, adapting the "Eris Training Arc" from the original light novels. This gives players both the game and fresh anime content to enjoy simultaneously.

For those unfamiliar with the series, Mushoku Tensei follows Rudeus Greyrat, a 34-year-old shut-in who dies in a truck accident and wakes up reborn as an infant in a fantasy world—but retains all his memories from his first life.
