My Girlfriend's Friend Anime Confirms October Debut With New Staff
The TV anime adaptation of Jura's My Girlfriend's Friend manga has revealed its creative team and a teaser video, with an October premiere locked in. The series stars Ryūga Nagaike, Sayaka Hashi, and Miki Hase.

The official website for My Girlfriend's Friend (Kanojo no Tomodachi) dropped new details on the TV anime this week, confirming the October debut and introducing additional staff members to the project.
Director Takashi Andō is helming the series at Quad, with WWWave Corporation's Deregula label producing and handling production duties. Gokō Shiraki, known for Hands off: Sawaranaide Kotesashi-kun, is handling script writing and supervision.
The newly announced creative roles include prop designer Kazuma Akagi (9-nine- Ruler's Crown), art director Do Kim Hoan Tran (Marika's Love Meter Malfunction), and color designer Momoka Saeki. Ryūji Iwata is designing characters and serving as chief animation director alongside Akira Koshiishi and Konatsu Kumagai. Hiroki Nishiyama leads sound design.
The cast features Ryūga Nagaike as Takeru, Sayaka Hashi as Kaori, and Miki Hase as Tomoko. The story follows high school student Takeru, who's in a relationship with Kaori—his first girlfriend. When Kaori's friend Tomoko begins making advances, tensions escalate.
The manga debuted on Kodansha's YanMaga Web in May 2021 and has maintained a steady publishing schedule; the seventh volume arrives July 16.
Deregula, launched by WWWave Corporation in June 2023, focuses on producing anime adaptations of external IP with an emphasis on adult-oriented and mature romance content. The label sits under WWWave's broader portfolio, which includes the ComicFesta digital manga platform and the AnimeFesta programming block—both known for shorter-form anime tied to risqué or adult manga.
