Kano Kashiwagi is ready to make readers laugh again. The manga creator behind My Maid, Miss Kishi will debut a new series titled Zureta Kaishaku no Bokura (Our Misunderstandings) in the next issue of Weekly Shōnen Magazine on July 8, according to an announcement in the magazine's current 31st issue.

The new manga kicks off with an ambitious 45-page first chapter and a color opening page—a common way magazines introduce creators' next big projects. Weekly Shōnen Magazine describes it as a "comedy of misunderstanding" centered on a girl dealing with low self-esteem. That's a pretty specific premise, suggesting Kashiwagi is leaning into character-driven comedy rather than action or adventure.

This marks Kashiwagi's next major project following the completion of My Maid, Miss Kishi, which ran on Kodansha's Magazine Pocket website from May 2020 to October 2021. The series wrapped up with six compiled volumes, and Kodansha USA licensed the manga for English-speaking readers, releasing the final volume in December 2022. That manga built a solid fanbase with its slice-of-life premise, so there's likely some anticipation for what Kashiwagi does next.

Weekly Shōnen Magazine is the right home for a comedy series—the magazine has a strong track record with character-driven stories alongside its famous action titles.
