Natsuki Hanae Joins Uso Tantei Tomanto Anime as Detective Lemonade
Voice actor Natsuki Hanae has been cast as ace detective Lemonade in the updated version of Uso Tantei Tomanto, a cute mystery anime airing on NTV's ZIP! morning program. The series follows vegetable and fruit characters solving mysteries through trivia.

Natsuki Hanae is the latest addition to the voice cast of Uso Tantei Tomanto (Lie Detective Tomanto), taking on the role of the ace detective Lemonade in the anime's newly updated version. The announcement came from the production staff on Monday.
Hanae joins returning cast member Mariya Ise, who already voices Mamango and will now also play detective Ichigo Berryry. Additional new cast members include Haruka Kitagaito as Purple, Yohito Igawa as Piimer, Minami Hinata as Jorocky and Merobon, and Takaaki Torashima as Makka-jii.
The updated version of the series began airing weekly within NTV's ZIP! morning variety program on March 30. It features an expanded ensemble including Takako Tanaka as the lead character Tomanto, alongside Miyuki Sakurai, Kikunosuke Toya, Atsuya Natsuyagi, and others in supporting roles.
Hazumu Sakuta (known for Sumikko Gurashi projects) directs the anime at studio Fanworks. Yoichi Kato handles supervision and scriptwriting, while Michihiko Suwa, who has worked on Case Closed and InuYasha, serves as production planner.
The series is billed as a "cute × mystery" anime with an "authentic mystery" premise. Tomanto and friends solve cases using vegetable and fruit trivia, with the protagonist's name itself playing on "tomato" and "manto" (the Inverness cape associated with Sherlock Holmes).
This updated version follows the original short series, which premiered on TRAIN TV—Japan Railways' in-car display video platform—in October 2025. The first run concluded with its 26th and final episode on April 5, with episodes also streaming on the TRAIN TV website and YouTube.
The original series was directed by Yoko Usami, also at Fanworks.
