Orange Inc., an AI localization startup, has launched emaqi Premium, a monthly subscription tier for its emaqi e-bookstore service. Available on the app as of July 5, the subscription costs US$6.99 (CAD$9.99) and includes access to more than 400 manga titles from the company's catalog.

The service's library features manga from major publishers including Kodansha USA Publishing, Shōnengahōsha, and Akita Publishing, with additional titles from Viz Media and Shogakukan coming soon. Around 100 titles are exclusive to emaqi Premium subscribers. Orange Inc. plans to expand the collection by adding approximately 100 new volumes each month as updates roll out.

To attract new subscribers, the company is offering a seven-day free trial for anyone signing up.

Orange Inc. was founded in April 2021 and expanded its presence significantly over the past few years. The company raised US$1.8 million in July 2023 and established its U.S. headquarters in March 2024. The emaqi app itself launched in May 2025, marking the company's entry into the mobile manga market before introducing the premium tier just over a year later.

With the subscription model gaining traction across streaming platforms, emaqi Premium positions itself as a dedicated manga service for North American and other regional markets. The focus on exclusive titles and consistent monthly additions suggests Orange Inc. is betting on building a sustainable subscriber base rather than competing solely on catalog size.
