REDICE Studio announced that its hit webtoon Overgeared is heading to television as Tempal ~The Power of Items~, launching this October. The anime adaptation will be produced by J.C. Staff with EGG FIRM handling production duties.

The story follows Youngwoo Shin, a broke gamer working odd jobs to survive in the real world while his family dismisses him as a hopeless video game addict. Everything changes when he enters Satisfy, a massively popular VR game, as Grid the Warrior. Though Grid starts off painfully average, Youngwoo discovers a tome containing the lost knowledge of a legendary blacksmith—with a twist. Using it resets all his levels, forcing him back to square one. Rather than grinding through traditional progression, Grid takes a different approach: he hunts down god-tier items and builds his power through equipment instead of experience.

Tatsumaru Tachibana (The God of High School) voices Grid, while Asami Seto (Jujutsu Kaisen) plays Yura. Director Ayako Kōno, known for her work on the Sword Art Online Progressive films, is helming the series. Kenta Ihara handles the scripts, with character design from another Kenta Ihara. Yoshikazu Iwanami directs sound, and composer Yoshiaki Fujisawa provides the music, with Pony Canyon handling music production.

The Overgeared webtoon is based on a web novel by Park Saenal, with Lee Dong-Wook writing the webtoon adaptation and Team Argo providing artwork. English-language readers can follow the series through Yen Press's Ize Press label, which has released 10 volumes so far.

Tempal joins a growing wave of webtoon-to-anime adaptations, bringing the Korean web novel format to Japanese animation studios. The October premiere will mark the anime's debut across multiple regions.
