Pocketpair revealed at Summer Game Fest that Palworld will reach Version 1.0 on July 10, marking the game's official full launch. The announcement came with the release of the game's first cinematic trailer, giving fans a fresh look at the monster-collecting adventure that's become a cultural phenomenon since its early access release.

The game has come a long way since launching on PlayStation 5 across 68 countries in September 2024 (with a Japan-specific release in October). A macOS port arrived in March 2025, expanding access even further. Version 1.0 represents the culmination of the early access period and signals Pocketpair's confidence in the game's stability and content.

Beyond the main game, Palworld's universe continues expanding. A cozy farming spinoff called Palworld: Palfarm is in development for Steam, handled by a dedicated new team. Meanwhile, an official trading card game launches on July 30—just three weeks after the Version 1.0 release—offering fans another way to engage with the franchise.

The project has attracted major players in entertainment. Sony Music Entertainment Japan and its subsidiary Aniplex established a joint venture called Palworld Entertainment with Pocketpair in July 2024. South Korean developer Krafton also signed on to bring Palworld to mobile platforms through a licensing agreement.

However, the game's road to Version 1.0 hasn't been entirely smooth. Pocketpair faces an ongoing patent infringement lawsuit from Nintendo and The Pokémon Company over gameplay mechanics. The company has previously confirmed that gameplay changes introduced in patches v0.3.11 and v0.5.5 were direct responses to the litigation, indicating the developers have had to make adjustments to certain systems.

Despite the legal challenges, Palworld has maintained strong momentum among players. The Version 1.0 launch on July 10 represents a full-featured release ready for the next chapter of the game's life, with multiple spin-offs and expansions already in motion.
