Paneguma has begun serializing a manga adaptation of Daken's light novel The Castle of Canaan: A Princess of a Fallen Kingdom and the World's Hidden Treasure on Overlap's Comic Gardo platform. The series kicked off on May 28, 2026.

The story takes place in a world transformed by the Aizen Empire's conquest—a militaristic power that replaced magic and swords with guns and artillery. At the center of the narrative are three thieves operating against this oppressive order. Their lives take an unexpected turn when they accidentally kidnap the princess of a fallen kingdom, setting off a chain of events that challenges the empire's dominance.

Daken originally published the story as a web novel on Shōsetsuka ni Narō starting in May 2024, building an audience through the platform before Overlap picked it up for a light novel release. The illustrated light novel edition, featuring artwork by Akemi Mikoto, shipped in July 2025.

This marks Daken's third major light novel property to receive an adaptation. The author has previously written The Wicked Princess and Her Twelve Eyes and Who Killed the Hero?, establishing a track record with fantasy and mystery-driven narratives.

Paneguma has experience bringing light novels to the manga medium. The studio previously adapted MeguriKukuru's The Assassin Laughs at Twilight for Comic Gardo, launching that series in November 2023. The original manga run concluded with its fourth and final compiled volume in August 2025, with Titan Manga releasing an English edition.

Comic Gardo continues to expand its catalog of light novel adaptations, positioning itself as a key platform for authors looking to reach manga audiences. With the Castle of Canaan manga now live, fans interested in the story have multiple entry points—the original web novel, the illustrated light novel, and now the manga serialization.
