For a while, both got what they wanted. The problem was that self-serving friendships have an expiration date. Once Atagawa no longer needed Koyuki's social capital, she simply stopped pretending. She leveraged her own popularity to turn everyone against Koyuki—not through one dramatic confrontation, but through a slow, deliberate erasure.

In response, she made a choice she clearly regrets: she dated Igarashi knowing full well that Atagawa liked him, using him as a weapon in her own petty revenge.
