Two established manga creators are joining forces for a fresh project. Robinson Haruhara, who wrote the comedy series 'Tis Time for "Torture," Princess', and Taishi Tsutsui, known for illustrating 'We Never Learn', are debuting a new manga titled Animal Signal in Weekly Shonen Jump beginning June 8.

The series is described as a "bishōjo animal comedy" centered around an organization called the Anima Countermeasures Center and its members who possess unusual abilities. While plot details remain limited, the premise suggests the pair are aiming for a blend of humor and action.

Haruhara previously collaborated with artist Hirakei on 'Tis Time for "Torture," Princess', which launched on Shonen Jump+ in April 2019 and ran for nearly seven years before concluding in August 2025. The manga found a significant audience through its anime adaptation—both seasons aired on Crunchyroll, with the second season premiering this January. The series proved popular enough to reach 19 compiled volumes.

Tsutsui brings equally strong credentials to Animal Signal. He's best known for 'We Never Learn', a romantic comedy that ran from February 2017 to December 2020 and spawned two anime seasons. The manga received notable English distribution through both Viz Media and MANGA Plus. More recently, Tsutsui wrapped up 'Syd Craft: Love Is a Mystery' in June 2025, a series that had been running in Weekly Shonen Jump since November 2024.

The timing of this collaboration suggests both creators are ready to move forward after their recent projects concluded. Animal Signal marks their first time working together, pairing Haruhara's comedic writing sensibilities with Tsutsui's character design and illustration skills.

With both creators having proven track records in Weekly Shonen Jump, Animal Signal could find a receptive audience among readers familiar with their previous work. Whether the series will eventually receive an anime adaptation remains to be seen, but the pedigree of its creators certainly positions it as one to watch in the magazine's lineup.
