Kodansha announced Thursday that Coco Uzuki's hit shoujo romance manga "Koiseyo Mayakashi Tenshi-domo" (Fall in Love, You False Angels) will receive a television anime adaptation arriving in 2027.

The manga, which launched in April 2023 in Kodansha's magazine Dessert, has become a commercial and critical success. The series has accumulated over 2.25 million copies in circulation worldwide, with the seventh volume shipping June 12. Kodansha USA licensed the English version in March 2024, with the fifth volume arriving June 23.

The story follows Otogi Katsura, a first-year class president who maintains a perfect public image as a gracious beauty. Her only rival in charm and appearance is vice president Toki Ninomae, who appears equally flawless. When Katsura accidentally reveals her sharp-tongued true self, Ninomae responds by dropping his polished façade to show his brusque nature. As the two continue shedding their "false angel" disguises around each other, romance blooms between them.

The manga's reputation precedes the anime announcement. It ranked 18th in the 2024 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! Female readers division before climbing to fifth place in 2025. Most notably, "Koiseyo Mayakashi Tenshi-domo" won the 49th Kodansha Manga Award in the Shoujo category in 2025 and earned a nomination for the 71st Shogakukan Manga Award.

Uzuki's commemorative illustration for the anime announcement was shared alongside the news. Fans interested in following updates can check the official X account @koidomo_anime or visit the manga's official website.

With its blend of romantic tension, character development, and humor rooted in the contrast between public personas and private personalities, the series fits naturally into the shoujo anime tradition. The 2027 premiere gives the adaptation time for careful production while momentum from the manga's awards and climbing popularity rankings continues to build anticipation.
