Kadokawa has announced that Sasaki and Peeps season 2 will debut this October, alongside a new promotional video and visual that reveal an expanded creative team.

Yūshi Ibe, who served as episode and assistant director on the first season, takes the helm as director for season 2 at SILVER LINK. The studio is also welcoming first season episode director Yamato Ouchi as assistant director. Meanwhile, Kazunori Ozawa transitions from animation director to action supervisor, 2DCG designer Yūko Shintani becomes compositing director of photography, and 3D animator Tsutomu Ogasawara steps up to 3D director.

The writing and design crew largely remains intact. Deko Akao continues as series script supervisor, Saori Nakashiki returns for character design and chief animation direction (alongside Yuki Sawairi), and the core technical team of Yūki Araki (art director), Shiho Mizumoto (color design), and Nobuyuki Abe (sound director) all reprise their roles.

Kadokawa also previously announced that composers Kōji Fujimoto and Osamu Sasaki are onboard for the music. Fujimoto worked on Tearmoon Empire and Mission: Yozakura Family, while Sasaki has credits on Ragna Crimson and the same Yozakura series.

The voice cast remains unchanged, with Tomokazu Sugita returning as Sasaki and Aoi Yūki as his talkative feathered companion Pii-chan. Supporting cast members including Akari Kitō, Rie Takahashi, and Inori Minase are also back.

Sasaki and Peeps adapts Buncololi's light novels with illustrations by Kantoku. The first season premiered in January 2024 as a one-hour special on AT-X before running for 12 episodes. Crunchyroll streamed the series internationally and produced an English dub, which will continue for season 2.

The story follows an overworked salaryman who adopts what he thinks is a simple pet, only to discover his new roommate is far more complicated than expected. Yen Press publishes the English translations of the source material.
