A new four-panel comedy manga is coming to fans of SD Gundam G Generation Eternal. Kazuya Tani, known for his work on the gourmet manga Ral Meshi, will debut SD Gundam G Generation Eternal 4-koma in the June 26 issue of Kadokawa's Gundam Ace magazine.

The manga ties into the mobile strategy game of the same name, which launched in April 2025 for iOS and Android devices. The game features super-deformed mobile suits pulled from across the entire Gundam franchise, letting players collect and battle their favorite mechas in bite-sized form.

Tani brings solid comedic credentials to the project. His previous series Ral Meshi: Ramba Ral no Haitoku Gohan ran in Gundam Ace from November 2020 through March 2025, earning enough of a following to justify six compiled volumes. That manga followed Zeon ace Ramba Ral as he ran Club Eden night club and took advantage of the staff's absence to cook whatever he wanted—a lighthearted premise that clearly resonated with readers.

SD Gundam G Generation Eternal itself represents the latest chapter in a long-running series of strategy games. First announced back in May 2022, the title finally reached players after a three-year development cycle. The franchise has maintained steady popularity among both casual Gundam fans and strategy game enthusiasts, making it a natural fit for manga adaptation.

The move reflects how Japanese publishers continue mining their game libraries for manga content. Given the game's collection-focused mechanics and colorful cast of super-deformed units, a four-panel comedy format seems like an ideal match—plenty of room for character interactions and visual gags without needing to follow a strict narrative.
