The television anime adaptation of Fiok Lee's Seven Sleeping Beauties (Shichinin no Nemuri-hime) officially launched this week with a website reveal that includes the full main cast, creative team, and a super teaser visual.

The anime is set to premiere in 2027. Production company Avex Pictures is overseeing the project, with director Mankyū (known for The IDOLM@STER Shiny Colors and The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague) helming the series at Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ SMASH.

The voice cast features:

  • Aya Yamane as Flora
  • Yoshino Aoyama (Bocchi the Rock!) as Kiara
  • Miku Itō as Claire
  • Ayasa Itō as Mia
  • Kana Ichinose as Charlotte
  • Fūka Izumi as Yūka
  • Rina Kawaguchi as Eliza

Keiichirō Ōchi (The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten, I Want to End This Love Game) is handling the series scripts, while character designer Masaru Koseki (The Dreaming Boy Is a Realist, World's End Harem) rounds out the key creative positions.

The manga follows a familiar fairy-tale premise with a twist. Set in the small kingdom of Amaryllis, the story begins when the entire kingdom falls under a witch's curse and its people fall into an unbreakable sleep. Alec, the third prince from a neighboring kingdom, journeys to Amaryllis to break the curse and rescue the sleeping princess. However, when he arrives, he discovers the shocking truth: there are actually seven princesses, and none of them will wake up unless Alec kisses each one.

Fiok Lee first serialized the manga in Kodansha's Afternoon magazine starting in March 2023. The series has proven popular enough to warrant this anime adaptation, with 12 compiled volumes either already published or in the pipeline—the 12th volume is scheduled to release on July 16.

With a solid creative team and an intriguing premise, Seven Sleeping Beauties looks to be shaping up as an interesting entry in the romance and fantasy anime landscape for 2027.
