SkySet Entertainment announced it will handle streaming and English dubbing duties for Go Forward (Massugu ni Ikō) and its sequel series Massugu ni Ikō: Melon Pan-hen, with the dub arriving in late summer 2026.

The Go Forward anime originally premiered in 2003 as a four-episode series, followed by the five-episode sequel in 2004. Both adaptations are based on the long-running manga by Kira, which debuted in Shueisha's The Margaret magazine back in 1991 and continues serialization today across multiple Shueisha publications.

The story follows Mametaro, a mixed-breed dog navigating everyday adventures with his owner Ikuko and girlfriend Hanako. A core plot thread involves Mametaro's struggle with Ikuko's boyfriend Akiyoshi, as the protective pup feels compelled to look out for his owner.

SkySet's English dub features a full cast including Michael Mishkin as Mametaro, Kiane Chula King as Hanako, and Phebe Fabacher as Ikuko Wakatsuki, among others. Fabacher also serves as ADR director, while Hayden Davis handles ADR engineering. The dubbing script was adapted by Betty BAT, Davis, Fabacher, and KyLeigh Zimmerer.

The two series will stream on SkySet's website across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Australia. Both Japanese audio with English subtitles and the new English dub will be available. SkySet plans to include bonus content through English cast commentary and interviews on its platform.

Following their initial release on SkySet, the anime will roll out to additional streaming platforms. The studio says more cast announcements are coming.

This marks another recovery effort for older anime titles, bringing Go Forward and its sequel back into circulation after more than two decades. For longtime fans of the series and newcomers alike, the dual-audio options give viewers flexibility in how they experience Mametaro's adventures.
