That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4 is gearing up for its second half with fresh creative talent. Daoko will perform the new opening theme "TACTIC," while Azusa Tadokoro handles the ending theme "Hymnal." The first part featured opening "Esoragoto" (Pipe Dream) by Eir Aoi and ending "Katsubō" (Craving) by CiON.

Studio 8-Bit continues animation duties for the season, with Miho Okasaki reprising her role as protagonist Rimuru Tempest. The fourth season spans five cours total and debuted April 3 on NTV's extended "Friday Anime Night" programming block at 11 p.m. JST, with additional broadcasts on BS11 and streaming on Crunchyroll.

On the film front, the Blu-ray Disc for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea will release in Japan on September 25. This marks the franchise's second theatrical film.

The original That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime light novel series by Fuse concluded in November with its 23rd volume, bringing the story to an official end after over 400 million page views on the "Shōsetsuka ni Narō" (Let's Become Novelists) website where it originally serialized from 2013 to 2016. Yen Press publishes the novels in English.

Despite the light novel's conclusion, the franchise continues expanding. A spinoff side-story novel volume shipped alongside the final volume, and a new side-story series is set for 2026. The anime adaptation, based on manga by Taiki Kawakami, has already spawned multiple seasons and adaptations—including the spinoff The Slime Diaries manga adaptation that aired in 2021.

For longtime fans, the combination of new opening and ending artists signals fresh creative direction for the back half of Season 4. Crunchyroll streams the series as it airs, making it accessible to international audiences.
