Square Enix Releases Second Dawntrail Artbook This December
Square Enix Manga & Books will release the second volume of its Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail artbook collection on December 15, featuring 304 pages of character and environment artwork plus an exclusive in-game minion.

Square Enix Manga & Books is wrapping up its official artbook series for Final Fantasy XIV's Dawntrail expansion with a second volume arriving December 15.
Titled The Art of Succession -Relics of Eternity-, the 304-page book continues the visual documentation of the expansion that launched last July. Readers can expect full-color artwork spanning characters, environments, equipment designs, and more from the Dawntrail content. The release also includes a bonus code for an in-game Lolly Cat minion, giving collectors a reason to grab a physical copy.
This marks the conclusion of a two-volume artbook set. The first volume, The Art of Succession –Relics of Heritage–, shipped in April 2025 and covered earlier Dawntrail material.
About Final Fantasy XIV
For those less familiar, Final Fantasy XIV is Square Enix's massively multiplayer online role-playing game that launched in 2010, though the current version—A Realm Reborn—released in 2013 with a completely overhauled world and story. The game has since expanded across PlayStation 3, 4, and 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X|S, accumulating just under 35 million registered accounts worldwide as of April.
The Dawntrail expansion continued the game's tradition of ambitious storytelling and world-building, and these artbooks serve as visual records of that creative work. For fans and artists alike, they're valuable resources showing character designs, environmental concept art, and equipment iterations that shipped with the expansion.
Square Enix continues supporting the game with plans for the next expansion, "Evercold," arriving January 2027. The company committed in 2022 to supporting Final Fantasy XIV for at least 10 years, so artbook releases like this one will likely continue as expansions roll out.
The book will be available through Square Enix Manga & Books' standard retail channels.
