Kadokawa announced a television anime adaptation of Agri Uma's Studio Cabana manga, set to premiere in 2027. The announcement came with reveals of the main cast, creative staff, and a teaser visual.

Sayumi Suzushiro takes the lead as Yukari Maki, a high school girl known for her honesty. Suzushiro previously voiced the character in a 2022 promotional video for the manga. The cast for Yūsuke Kusaka, the male lead, hasn't been announced yet, though character designs were shared.

Production Team

Shin'ichirō Ushijima directs the anime at studio JUVENAGE. Ushijima's previous credits include I Want to Eat Your Pancreas, UniteUp!, and UniteUp! -Uni:Birth-. Sawako Hirabayashi (Wolf Girl & Black Prince, Delicious Party♡Precure) handles series composition, while character designer Haruka Sagawa comes from Call of the Night and Re:ZERO seasons 3 and 4.

About the Story

Studio Cabana follows Yukari, a straightforward student who initially thinks she has nothing in common with delinquent classmate Yūsuke. Her unwillingness to let him slide academically earns her an almost protective reputation—and his apparent disdain. When a rumor about Yūsuke spreads, Yukari pursues him to set the record straight, following him home. There, she discovers he visits a music studio, revealing a side of him she never expected.

Manga Background

Agri Uma launched the manga in Kadokawa's pixiv Sylph online magazine in June 2021. Eight compiled volumes have been published, with volume nine releasing August 21. Yen Press licensed the manga for English readers and will begin releasing volumes in winter 2027, coinciding with the anime announcement.

The 2027 premiere marks another successful adaptation for Kadokawa and continues the trend of manga with musical or artistic themes gaining anime adaptations.
