ASMIK Ace announced Thursday that The Reincarnated Elf Left on a Journey to Master His Magic and With His Extra Lifespan Became a Living Legend (known as Tensei Elf) is heading to television in 2027. The studio released a teaser video, visual, and confirmed the main cast and creative team for the anime adaptation of Monshō Sakakibara's light novel series.

Daiki Yamashita will voice the protagonist Liese, with Hana Hishikawa joining the cast as Minori. Yuki Inaba, known for directing episodes of KamiKatsu: Working for God in a Godless World and Parasyte -the maxim-, will direct the series at Studio Palette while handling the scripts.

The story follows a man whose ordinary life ends in a sudden accident. He's reincarnated as an elf with a lifespan of 1,000 years and embarks on a journey determined to live without regrets and leave proof of his existence. Along the way, he reunites with a young girl whose life he once saved in a previous encounter. ASMIK Ace describes it as an isekai fantasy centered on the elf's journey through encounters and farewells.

Sakakibara originally launched the story on Kakuyomu in 2021, and Starts Publishing released a light novel adaptation in 2022 with illustrations by Hatori Kyoka. The series expanded to manga in May 2023 through Starts Publishing's isekai comic label Glast COMICS and also appears on the Manga Zegra website. The manga's sixth compiled volume is scheduled to ship June 26.

With its long lifespan premise and emphasis on legacy, Tensei Elf joins a growing lineup of isekai adaptations exploring themes beyond typical reincarnation stories. The 2027 debut gives fans plenty of time to catch up with the source material before the anime arrives.
