Ōhashi Hirai's sports manga The Days of Diamond is coming back next month. Young Jump magazine announced that the series will resume serialization in its June 4 issue after going on hiatus in January.

This marks another return for the manga, which has had a rocky schedule over the past 18 months. Hirai initially paused the series in August 2024 for personal reasons before resuming later that month. Things got complicated in September 2024, when the manga halted again so Hirai could prepare the seventh compiled volume—originally meant to resume October 3 before pushing back to October 31.

Most recently, the series entered its latest break on January 22, and now it'll be back in circulation starting June 4.

The Days of Diamond launched in Young Jump back in February 2023. The story follows Jiro Ayasegawa, a naturally gifted athlete who's dominated in sports but finds himself isolated at the top. His success has crushed other players' dreams, and some have even quit their sports entirely because of him. Seeking a more relaxed environment, Jiro joins "The Bambies," a casual, low-level kids' baseball team that plays purely for fun. Things don't stay simple for long, though—the story takes an unexpected turn that tests what Jiro really wants from the game.

The manga's ninth compiled volume released in December, so fans have fresh material to catch up on before the serialization resumes. If you want to read ahead, MANGA Plus is hosting the series digitally.

With Hirai's history of breaks, there's no guarantee how long this run will last, but for now, The Days of Diamond fans have something to look forward to.
