Two fresh cast additions have been announced for The Insipid Prince's Furtive Grab for The Throne, the anime adaptation of Tanba and Yuunagi's light novel series. Yoshitsugu Matsuoka will voice Traugott Lakes Adler, while Ai Kayano takes on the role of Mitsuba.

These join the previously announced leads: Yūma Uchida as Arnold Lakes Adler, the titular insipid prince with a secret identity as SILVER, one of the continent's five SS-rank adventurers. Kikunosuke Toya plays his younger brother Leonard, who sets his sights on the throne, prompting Arnold to orchestrate events from the shadows. The supporting cast includes Manaka Iwami as Fine von Kleinert and Maaya Uchida as Elna von Amsberg.

Director Yūji Yanase (who helmed By the Grace of the Gods and In the Land of Leadale) leads production at Maho Film. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu handles scripts with his experience from Hajime no Ippo Rising and Record of Ragnarok, while character designer Kazuko Tadano brings her decades of work on classics like Sailor Moon and Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens to the project.

The anime kicks off July 6 at 8:57 p.m. JST on Tokyo MX, with a follow-up broadcast on BS Fuji the next day. Streaming platforms ABEMA, d Anime Store, U-NEXT, and Anime Hōdai will carry it domestically in Japan starting July 6 at 9:30 p.m. JST, while Crunchyroll will simulcast the series worldwide as episodes air.

The story follows Arnold as he balances his public persona as a seemingly unremarkable prince against his twin brother's genius with his hidden role manipulating political machinations. His unexpected partnership with a mysterious beautiful woman adds another layer to this hidden power struggle.

BUDDiiS performs the opening theme "Script," while idol group Kurawan provides the ending theme "Suteki na Kanchigai" (A Wonderful Mistake). The light novel series, which began on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2019, has expanded to 16 volumes, with a manga adaptation also serialized through Kadokawa.
