The television anime adaptation of Kureha's The Ogre's Bride light novel series has announced three more cast members through a newly released trailer.

Joining the previously announced voice actors are:

  • Nobunaga Shimazaki as Ouga Kiyama

  • Aya Endō as Sakurako Kiyama

The expanded cast now includes Saori Hayami as protagonist Yuzu Shinonome, Yūichirō Umehara as Reiya Kiryuin, and several other actors filling supporting roles. The anime will premiere in July 2026.

The Ogre's Bride tells the story of an ordinary high school girl named Yuzu who lives in a world where humans and demons coexist peacefully. While her older sister holds the title of a demon's bride, Yuzu encounters a beautiful ogre who claims her as his own bride, setting her life on a new trajectory.

The anime is being produced at Colored Pencil Animation Japan under director Kazuhito Ōmiya. Yumi Kamakura is handling the series scripts, with character designs by Hikari Tanaka and Hiroko Shigekuni. Masaru Yokoyama is composing the original score.

The light novel series, which launched on Starts Publishing's Novema! platform in 2019, has become a major success story. It won the grand prize at the First Novema! Character Short Story Contest and has spawned both a manga adaptation and a live-action film. The manga version, illustrated by Yū Shiroya and serialized in Noicomi magazine since December 2021, won the magazine's annual ranking in the girl comics category for two consecutive years (2022-2023).

Combined, the light novel and manga have sold over 5.8 million copies. The live-action film, which opened on March 27, 2026, demonstrated strong audience interest, earning approximately $1.27 million during its opening three days with 146,000 tickets sold. MangaPlaza is releasing the manga adaptation in English for international readers.
