Tezuka Productions has officially announced the cast and premiere date for The Salty Koharu Has a Soft Spot for Me, the anime adaptation of Kazami Sawatari and illustrator Aitiki's light novel series. The show will debut in October 2026, with an early screening planned for September 20 at Shinjuku Piccadilly featuring cast members.

The lead roles go to Hiiro Ishibashi as Sōta Oshio and Miku Itō as Koharu Satō. Supporting cast members include Miyu Tomita, Chiaki Kobayashi, Yoshino Aoyama, Hisako Kanemoto, Yasunori Matsumoto, and Yūki Wakai.

Fumihiro Yoshimura (director of My Wife Has No Emotion and Jungle Emperor Leo) is helming the series at Tezuka Productions. Takashi Aoshima, known for work on The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You and Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!, is handling series composition. Character designer Daisuke Okushima and composer Shun Narita round out the creative team.

The story follows a coming-of-age romantic comedy centered on two characters with an ironic twist: each harbors unrequited feelings for the other. Sōta works at a café and discovers that Koharu Satō, known around school as aloof and "cold," is actually shy and awkward. This revelation sparks an unexpected connection between them.

The light novel series, published under Shogakukan's Gagaga Bunko imprint since 2019, has released 12 volumes as of August 2025. A manga adaptation by Kaya Tetsuyama began serialization in May 2020 and has published 10 compiled volumes. English readers can access the series through Shogakukan's NOVELOUS app under the same English title.
