Tomica & Tom Returns for Season 2 With Weekly Episodes and May J. Theme Song
The children's anime shorts Tomica & Tom is getting a second season starting July 5, airing weekly instead of monthly. Singer May J. contributes an original song to the new season.

Tomica & Tom, the short-form anime based on Tsumupapa's picture books and Takara Tomy's Tomica toy car line, is returning for a second season on July 5. The show will continue airing within the children's program Tomipla World Nori Nori Times!! on TV Tokyo and affiliated channels every Sunday at 8:30 a.m., with new episodes also streaming on YouTube.
The biggest change from season one is the release schedule. Where the first season aired one episode per month, the new season will shift to a weekly format, giving fans much more frequent content.
Season two also features a new original song called "Kimi no Takaramono" (Your Treasure), performed by May J., the vocalist behind the Japanese version of Frozen's "Let It Go." Music producer Ryōsuke Imai co-wrote the lyrics with May J. and also composed and arranged the music.
Tsumupapa continues to lead the production, handling directing, storyboards, series scripts, key animation, and sound direction. The creative team includes producers Miyuu Kurata, Ayano Yoneda, and Ayami Yoshihira, with Noriko Miyata as production runner. Kōichi Hirota produces the background music, and Takashi Iitsuka handles editing.
Mai Ujita returns as the voice of Tom, the plush bear character who serves as the show's heart. The first season premiered last July and established the show as a charming entry in the children's anime space, blending the appeal of Takara Tomy's iconic toy cars with original storytelling.
With the shift to weekly episodes and the addition of May J.'s star power through the new theme song, the second season looks positioned to expand the show's reach beyond its core audience. Fans of the first season and newcomers alike can expect the same gentle, toy-focused storytelling when the show returns this summer.
