Arc System Works America has officially announced Trinity Glassfille as the latest DLC addition to Blazblue: CentralFiction, unveiling the character during the EVO 2026 fighting game tournament over the weekend. The reveal comes after months of teasing from the developer.

Trinity marks the first entirely new character to join the roster in nearly a decade—Jubei was the last addition back in 2017. This makes her arrival a pretty big deal for the fighting game community that's kept Blazblue: CentralFiction alive all these years.

However, there's a catch. Trinity will only be available on PlayStation 4 and PC versions of the game. Players on arcade cabinets, PlayStation 3, or Nintendo Switch won't be getting access to the new fighter, at least not in this announcement.

For context, Blazblue: CentralFiction originally launched in Japanese arcades in November 2015 before coming to PS4 and PS3 in Japan the following October. Aksys Games brought it west for North America in November 2016, with the Switch port arriving in February 2019. The fighting game has remained a steady presence in the competitive scene despite the long gap between new character releases.

Arc System Works has kept the Blazblue IP active beyond the main fighting game. BlazBlue Entropy Effect, a side-scrolling roguelite spin-off, launched on Steam Early Access in August 2023 and received its full PC release in January 2024. An expanded version for PlayStation 5, Switch, and Xbox Series X|S followed in February 2026.

The Trinity reveal during EVO is fitting timing—the annual tournament draws thousands of fighting game fans and players, making it the perfect stage for Arc System Works to remind audiences that CentralFiction still has life in it. Whether this single character addition signals more support for the aging fighter remains to be seen, but it's clear the developer isn't ready to close the book on this entry just yet.
