The Tune In to the Midnight Heart anime is getting a second season, and NBC Universal confirmed it'll arrive in 2027 alongside casting news for fresh characters.

Voice actresses Ami Koshimizu (Spice and Wolf) and Kaede Hondo (Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina) have joined the cast as Riina Yamabuki and Mito Yamabuki, respectively. Riina is Arisu's older sister who struggles with insecurity about her short stature, while Mito is the cheerful youngest sibling, providing a more laid-back energy compared to her hot-tempered and eccentric siblings.

The production team remains largely intact. Director Masayuki Takahashi (Butareba: The Story of a Man Turned into a Pig) returns at studio Gekkō, alongside screenwriter Yukie Sugawara (Overlord) and character designer Tomoyuki Shitaya (Food Wars!, Bakuman.). Composer Kuniyuki Takahashi also returns to handle the music. Akira Nagasaki has stepped in as the new color designer, replacing Azusa Sasaki from season one.

The first season wrapped up on March 24 after 12 episodes, airing on Kansai TV and Fuji TV's "Ka-Anival!!" programming block on Tuesday nights. It was also available on BS Asahi, with Crunchyroll streaming both the Japanese version and English dub internationally.

Tune In to the Midnight Heart adapts Masakuni Igarashi's manga from Weekly Shōnen Magazine, which launched in September 2023. The story follows Arisu Yamabuki, a high schooler searching for "Apollo," a mysterious late-night radio host whose voice once comforted him during lonely nights. His investigation leads him to his school's broadcasting club, where he meets four girls pursuing their own voice-acting dreams. The manga is currently at 14 compiled volumes with the latest dropping August 17, and Kodansha USA is publishing it digitally in English.
