Voice actor Tom Kane died Monday from complications related to a stroke, according to his talent agency Galactic Productions. He was 64 and was hospitalized in Kansas City, Missouri.

Kane suffered a stroke in November 2020 that left him unable to speak or write, leading him to step away from voice acting. Despite the severity of his condition, he maintained a legacy spanning decades in animation and entertainment.

His most recognizable roles included Professor Utonium and HIM in The Powerpuff Girls animated series. He brought gravitas to major franchises, voicing Yoda and serving as narrator for Star Wars: The Clone Wars. His work extended into video games, where he played Magneto in Marvel vs. CAPCOM 3: Fate of Two Worlds, Ondore in Final Fantasy XII, and Antourion in Resonance of Fate.

Beyond animation, Kane worked as an announcer for Disney theme park attractions at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World, and lent his voice to numerous Academy Awards broadcasts—a testament to his versatility as a performer.

While Kane's voice work primarily appeared in Western animation and video games rather than anime productions, his contributions to the broader voice acting industry influenced generations of performers.
