Yoroi-Shinden Samurai Troopers is ready to continue its modern-day armor-clad adventure. A new promotional video released Friday previews the anime's second part, which kicks off July 7 on Tokyo MX and streams on Crunchyroll.

The video highlights the new ending theme "Bakemon" performed by karanoah, while the opening theme "Bad Idenshi" (Bad Gene) is handled by Dannie May. For context, the first part used "YOAKE" (Dawn) by rock band blank paper and "POWER" by boy group ONE OR EIGHT.

Five new cast members join the lineup for the second part:

  • Tomoaki Maeno as Gomei
  • Aya Endō as Shimei
  • Hiroshi Shirokuma as Gaimei
  • Maaya Sakamoto as Yashimanosagume
  • Takehito Koyasu as Inmei

The anime premiered in January on multiple Japanese channels and streaming platforms including U-NEXT, Anime Hōdai, and d Anime Store. It's available internationally on Crunchyroll.

Directed by Yōichi Fujita (Gintama, Mr. Osomatsu) at Sunrise studio, this new adaptation relocates the classic Yoroiden Samurai Troopers story to present-day Shinjuku, following five boys who wear Yoroi Gear samurai armor to battle the demon emperor Arago. The creative team includes script supervisor Shōgo Mutō (Crows Zero), character designer Yūhei Murota (Love Live!), and composer Shūji Katayama (Overlord).

The original Yoroiden Samurai Troopers anime aired in 1988-1989 and became a household name in the West as "Ronin Warriors" on Cartoon Network. The franchise has seen various releases over the decades, with Discotek Media making the full series available on DVD with English subtitles in 2015.
