Yuki Yuna is a Hero Gets New Stage Play This June

Fans of the magical girl series Yuki Yuna is a Hero have something special to look forward to this summer. A new stage play adaptation titled Butai Yūki Yūna wa Yūsha de Aru -Kizuna- (which translates to "Stage Yuki Yuna is a Hero -Bonds-") is set to premiere in June.

The production brings back fan-favorite performers from the first stage play, including Sakiho Motonishi, Rio Omori, Sayaka Harada, Azumi Okada, and Yui Itо̄. Having these actresses return should provide continuity for audiences who enjoyed the previous theatrical adaptation.

For those unfamiliar with the series, Yuki Yuna is a Hero follows middle school students who are chosen to become magical girls and protect their world from mysterious threats called Vertex. The anime originally aired in 2014 and gained a dedicated following for its unique take on the magical girl genre, focusing heavily on friendship and sacrifice.

The subtitle "Kizuna" (meaning "bonds") suggests this new stage production will explore the relationships between the heroines, which has always been a core theme of the franchise.
