Ado has dropped her latest single, "Monstruo," arriving alongside the theatrical release of the live-action BLUE LOCK film in Japan on August 7, 2026. The track serves as the official theme song for the movie adaptation of the globally popular soccer manga.

The single pairs production from composers Giga & TeddyLoid—who previously worked with Ado on "Odo" and "Show"—with lyrics by ryo of supercell. "Monstruo" channels a Latin-inspired rhythm and builds around Ado's signature vocal style, blending powerful singing with rapid-fire rap passages. The title, meaning "monster" in Spanish, captures the song's central idea of awakening inner strength and pushing beyond limits—a thematic match for BLUE LOCK's story of cutthroat competition among Japan's top young strikers.

The accompanying music video, created by illustrator LAM, sets the action against a futuristic cityscape. The visual follows a protagonist through a high-speed car chase loaded with explosive crashes, flying sparks and relentless momentum, delivering the energy the track demands.

The release marks another milestone in a landmark year for the 23-year-old singer. In July, Ado performed two historic shows at Nissan Stadium and made her Lollapalooza debut in Chicago, closing the Airbnb Stage. Since her major-label breakthrough with "Usseewa" in October 2020, she has built a reputation as one of Japan's most distinctive contemporary voices, with a growing international fanbase.

BLUE LOCK follows an unprecedented project designed to develop Japan's ultimate striker for FIFA World Cup glory.
