Afro has officially announced his first solo album "Mushoku Kakusei" (Unemployed Awakening), arriving July 29, 2026 via PONY CANYON INC. and YY GAYAGAYA RECORDS.

The artist, who paused his MOROHA activities in December 2024, has since focused on his collaborative project Tentenkoukoku with vocalist Higuchi Ai. The new solo effort marks a significant milestone in his solo career.

To accompany the announcement, Afro released a live music video for the new track "Moon River." The song features Afro on vocals and lyrics, with production by Beatmatsu Satoshi (skillkills). The video combines footage from Afro's self-organized December 2024 event "Reemployment" at Tokyo's Spotify O-EAST with moonlit ocean visuals, directed by Kei Fujiwara.

Afro will support the album with an extensive release tour titled "Hitorizu Mō no Yokozuna-tachi" (Solo Tournament Champions) running from August through December. The tour features genre-spanning collaborations, bringing together performers including Imai Raipachi, Tachikawa Yoshishou, Yasue Denjerasu Ojisan, Satsumagawa RPG, Manago Shin, Saniyutei Onimaru, Saimu Shota, Tsuji Nagiko, and Kudo Yujiro.

Tour dates span across Japan, with stops in Tokyo, Kyoto, Gunma, Yamanashi, Miyagi, Nagano, Aichi, Osaka, and Fukuoka. The tour concludes December 12 at Tokyo's Spotify O-EAST with Afro's self-organized "Reemployment" event.

Ticket pre-sales for all shows except the finale open May 22 at noon through June 7 at 11:59 PM via E-Plus, with standard sales following afterward. Album tracklist details will be announced at a later date.
