Japanese rock band [Alexandros] is adding their own spin to anime cinema with a cover of 'ENDROLL,' an insert song from the latest Mobile Suit Gundam film. The reimagined version drops May 29 across streaming platforms.

The original 'ENDROLL' was a duet between [Alexandros] frontman Yohei Kawakami and singer SennaRin, with composer Hiroyuki Sawano handling both the score for Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash - Witch of Circe and the song's arrangement. SennaRin penned the lyrics.

For this cover, [Alexandros] strips away the orchestral elements and applies their signature band sound, transforming the track into a sharp, edgy rock tune. The reimagined version retains SennaRin on vocals and Sawano on piano, maintaining the original duet's core while letting the band's guitars and rhythm section take the lead.

[Alexandros] have built a solid track record with anime and film work over the years. The Tokyo-based group, which officially started in 2007 and majored in 2015, has grown into one of Japan's notable rock acts. Their 2016 album "EXIST!" debuted at number one on the Oricon weekly chart, and they've headlined major venues like ZOZO Marine Stadium, drawing crowds of 35,000.

Recently, the band has stayed active on the live circuit. They hosted their own festival, "[Alexandros] presents THIS FES '24 in Sagamihara," last October, and are gearing up to release a new album in spring 2025. A cover track like this shows the band's willingness to branch into different creative territories while staying grounded in their rock identity.
