Two Japanese artists have been chosen to provide the theme songs for the new TV anime 'Kimi o Ai Suru Ki wa Nai' to Itta Shoki Koushakusama ga Nazeka Bekiai Shite Kimasu (often shortened as Kimi Ai), which launches July 4 on TV Asahi.

Rirya, a singer-songwriter known for emotional vocals and expressive delivery, will perform the opening theme "Itsuka Chanto." She wrote the song specifically for the anime, interpreting the relationship between the main characters Elsa and Yulius as unrequited love on both sides. "I poured my interpretation of Elsa and Yulius into 'Itsuka Chanto,' and I hope this song resonates with how everyone envisions their story," Rirya shared in a statement.

Sorato takes the ending theme slot with a new track titled "Saishukai" (Final Episode). After reading the source material, Sorato found herself connecting with Yulius's inner conflict and moved by Elsa's pure nature, which inspired the composition. She reflected on the creative process: "Normally I sing about how forever doesn't exist, but after diving into this story, I felt like we could move forward together. I'm excited to watch Kimi Ai with all its heart-pounding moments and look forward to the story's conclusion."

The anime adapts a manga that topped BookLive's annual rankings for two consecutive years. The plot follows Elsa, an optimistic daughter of a fallen noble family, and Yulius, an elite but awkward future duke, as they enter a contractual marriage of convenience that gradually becomes genuine.

Rirya has built significant momentum in anime music recently. Her major debut album Kiseki dropped in January 2025, featuring opening themes for Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon, the Ranma 1/2 ending theme, and music for the drama Ano Ko no Kodomo. She's also performed opening themes for other anime projects throughout 2025.

Sorato's "Saishukai" will also appear on her debut full-length album arriving this summer. Fans can preview both theme songs in the anime's main promotional video now available on YouTube.

Kimi Ai airs Saturdays at 25:30 (12:30 AM) starting July 4.
