BUMP OF CHICKEN is bringing their music to the cosmos with a unique planetarium collaboration starting July 3. The experience, titled "Searching for Shooting Stars featuring BUMP OF CHICKEN," will run across five Konica Minolta planetariums in the Tokyo and Nagoya areas.

The 40-minute show immerses viewers in a dome filled with meteor shower visuals—including the famous Perseids—all synchronized to BUMP OF CHICKEN's catalog. Voice actor Yamashita Daiki provides narration throughout the experience. A preview video released this week features the band's track "The True Identity of Shooting Stars."

This marks an interesting creative pivot for the veteran rock band, which has been a staple of Japan's music scene since their 2000 major debut. Known for introspective lyrics and layered guitar work, BUMP OF CHICKEN has evolved from underground live house performances into arena acts over their 25-year career. Their latest album "Iris" dropped last September, followed by an extensive national dome and hall tour.

Tickets for the July 3-31 run go on sale June 25 at 2 PM through online channels. Official merchandise will be available at each planetarium location for ticket holders, with details announced June 24. Some items will also be sold through BUMP OF CHICKEN's official online store.

The five venues participating are Konica Minolta PlanetariumTOKYO, PlanetariumYOKOHAMA in Yokohama, Planetarium Manten in Sunshine City Tokyo, Planetarium Tenku in Tokyo Skytree Town, and Planetarium Manten NAGOYA.

For fans seeking a different way to experience BUMP OF CHICKEN's music—or those simply captivated by the night sky—this collaboration offers a rare chance to enjoy the band's sound in an immersive, non-traditional setting.
