EMNW is a two-vocalist rock duo made up of Emma and Menu, and they're making a case for a more expansive definition of what rock can be. Their major debut single, LOVING TO GET US BY, marks a turning point for the group. The release launches what Emma and Menu describe as a new chapter, building on momentum from their self-titled album released in March.

When describing their music, Emma points to the Japanese term "mixture rock"—a blend of punk, ska, hip-hop, and loud rock that sits closest to nu metal or rap metal in English contexts. It's a sound that refuses easy categorization, which is precisely the point. Both vocalists emphasize that their strength lies in how these different elements intersect, and they're intentional about pursuing music only they can create.

Their influences run deep across multiple scenes. EMNW cites Japanese mixture and rap-rock acts like RIZE, The BONEZ, Dragon Ash, and YAMAARASHI, alongside overseas heavyweights including Limp Bizkit and the Beastie Boys. That cross-cultural approach shows in their work—they're taking inspiration from Japan's mixture scene and international nu metal and hip-hop, then filtering it through their own sensibility.

Menu's path to the group is telling. Originally pursuing solo music, Menu caught the attention of the team after posting a cover of Creepy Nuts on social media, which led to an audition and eventually joining EMNW. Emma, who already knew producer Kuboty, was brought in earlier. Both describe feeling excitement about the possibilities from day one.

What stands out in their approach is the deliberate refusal to be boxed in by genre. Emma's stated goal is to become a crossover artist unbounded by category, while Menu emphasizes expressing what personally feels "interesting" without self-imposed limits. That philosophy comes through in their playful, dynamic vocal work and willingness to pull from such varied sonic territory.
