Japanese punk legends FRICTION have announced new official merchandise coming through P-VINE Records as part of the label's milestone 50th anniversary campaign.

The release includes a brand new official T-shirt design and an acrylic stand featuring the influential band. While specific design details and release dates haven't been revealed yet, the merchandise represents a collaboration between one of Japan's most important punk acts and the pioneering independent label.

FRICTION formed in 1978 and became one of the most significant bands in Japan's early punk and alternative rock scene. Led by Reck (vocals) and Tsunematsu Masatoshi (guitar), the band helped define the sound of Japanese underground music in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Their raw, experimental approach influenced countless Japanese alternative acts that followed.

P-VINE Records, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, has been a crucial force in Japanese independent music since 1974. The label has championed everything from punk and alternative rock to jazz and world music, making it a perfect fit for FRICTION's legacy.

This merchandise drop gives both longtime fans and newcomers a chance to celebrate FRICTION's enduring impact on Japanese music culture. For a band that helped establish Japan's punk credentials on the international stage, having new official items through such a respected label feels like a fitting tribute to their lasting influence.
