Suchmos closed out their 'Suchmos The Blow Your Mind TOUR 2026' with a special guest who rarely takes the stage as a supporting act: Fujii Kaze. The finale show took place July 2 at Zepp Haneda Tokyo, concluding a nine-stop tour that began May 14 and featured different co-headliners at each venue.

Fujii Kaze's appearance marked a rare exception to his usual trajectory. The artist, who regularly sells out dome-level venues across Japan and maintains an active world tour schedule, performing at Zepp—a venue holding around 3,000 people—felt remarkable in itself. For Fujii Kaze personally, the venue carried weight: he had a solo show scheduled there in June 2020 that was cancelled due to COVID-19, and he subsequently moved on to larger halls and arenas without returning to the Zepp circuit.

Guest appearances at other artists' shows are especially uncommon for Fujii Kaze. His only other notable recent example was performing alongside Billie Eilish during her 'HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR' at Saitama Super Arena on August 17, 2025.

The collaboration became possible through a deep professional connection. During Suchmos' hiatus, guitarist TAIKING has been a regular fixture in Fujii Kaze's band, including performing at this year's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. The two musicians have maintained their bond even through difficult moments—when bassist HSU passed away, TAIKING was performing at one of Fujii Kaze's shows as part of his tour.

The tour itself showcased Suchmos' ability to adapt and evolve. Across 18 performances over nine cities, the setlist changed nearly every night, with only two pairs of shows sharing identical songs. Each guest artist influenced not just the sound of the band that evening, but how Suchmos approached being a working band.
