Gusokumuz has dropped a live version of "Mata Saku Hana" today, giving fans a chance to relive the energy from their recent tour run. The track was recorded during the final show of their SCRATCH TOUR 2026 at Tokyo Kinema Club in April, and it's now streaming on all major platforms.

The song comes from the band's fourth album "SCRATCH," which dropped last November. "Mata Saku Hana" proved to be a crowd favorite throughout the tour, so capturing it live made perfect sense. The studio recording doesn't quite capture what happens when the Tokyo Kinema Club crowd gets behind it, so this live version offers something the album couldn't deliver.

To accompany the audio release, Gusokumuz premiered the live music video on their YouTube channel tonight at 8 PM JST. Director Satoh Yuki, who previously helmed the "Itsutsumo" music video, brought the concert footage to life with a professional touch that captures the raw energy of the performance.

The four-piece—featuring Tanaka Eizo on vocals and guitar, Kato Yuki on guitar, Hori Yusuke on bass, and Nakajima Yushi on drums—have been building serious momentum since their major label debut last year under Ki/oon Music. Their SCRATCH TOUR ran from January through April, making stops across the country before wrapping in Tokyo.

For those unfamiliar with Gusokumuz, the Kichijoji-based band has quietly become one of Japan's most interesting rock acts. Their 2021 track "Subete Kara Tooriage" brought them wider recognition, and their debut album earned a nod at the 14th CD Shop Awards in 2022. They've since released three more full-lengths and snagged festival appearances like Fuji Rock's Rookie A Go-Go in 2023.

This live release signals the band isn't slowing down. With the energy captured in this recording, expect them to keep building on the momentum they've generated throughout 2026.
