Murakoshi 'HARRY' Hiroaki has announced the release of his solo best album "Tanima no Hikari 2," dropping July 22 exclusively through Tower Records. The 11-track collection represents what the label describes as an "original album-style compilation"—a carefully curated selection that captures the essence of HARRY's solo work.

This follows 2025's "Harry The Best Tanima no Hikari," marking the continuation of a project celebrating his career beyond his most famous role. HARRY has maintained an active solo presence since launching his solo career in 2001, two years after The Street Sliders disbanded in 2000 after 23 singles and 10 original albums.

Pre-order customers will receive an exclusive postcard featuring a young HARRY before his official debut at age 21, adding a nostalgic touch for longtime fans.

The timing aligns with HARRY's busy summer schedule. Just days before the album drops, he'll headline a two-man live event with The Birthday on July 17 at SGC Hall Ariake in Tokyo. The "HARRY & THE BIRTHDAY TOUR 2026 'Gotta Move' FINAL" marks the conclusion of their collaborative tour series, with tickets currently available through E-plus, Ticket Pia, and Lawson Ticket.

The Street Sliders, formed in 1980, established themselves as a cornerstone of Japan's rock scene with their powerful live performances. The band made their debut in 1983 and performed at legendary venues like the Budokan in 1987. After 689 shows, they officially disbanded in October 2000, but their influence remains substantial in Japanese rock circles.

Recently, the band reunited for special performances, including a 2023 Tokyo Budokan show and the release of the 40th anniversary album "On The Street Again -Tribute & Origin-." HARRY's continued solo output demonstrates the enduring appeal of his individual artistry alongside his legacy with the band.
