aoen dropped their third single, Hajimari Color (Beginning Color), on July 22, less than four months after their previous release INSTANT CRUSH in March.

The group—Yuuju, Ruka, Gaku, Hikaru, Sota, Kyosuke, and Reo—unveiled the title track and album track BOoM×2 DROP at a Tokyo release event on July 21. Fans responded enthusiastically to the high-energy performances, which mixed salsa-influenced choreography with costume work that highlighted each member's personality.

"We will work hard to grow one step further through this new release and become a group that Aoring can be proud of," aoen told attendees, referring to their official fanbase.

Hajimari Color frames the album around seven young people with distinct personalities discovering their shared identity. The title uses a prism metaphor—as different wavelengths of light emerge from a prism, the tracks follow unfinished youths finding their unique light together.

The four-song release drew significant international production firepower. Taka Perry, who co-wrote the global hit "Touch" for girl group KATSEYE, co-wrote material alongside producer Roa. Beyond the title track, the album includes BOoM×2 DROP, described as a heavy-sounding track with a twist; Youth, which emphasizes positive energy; and Asphalt Rainbows, a warm ballad.

The accompanying music video takes a lighter approach, following member Yuuju as he initially appears downcast before reconnecting with the group through playful moments involving water balloons and cake cream.

aoen debuted in June 2025 under the banner of "youth reminder," positioning themselves around honest portrayals of young emotions. Their second single INSTANT CRUSH surpassed 100,000 cumulative shipments and earned gold certification from Japan's Recording Industry Association. The group performed at WeverseCon Festival in June and is currently midway through their first solo tour, which will take them across all 47 Japanese prefectures.
